Electricity
makes so many things possible that we often take it for granted. But
because it is so powerful, it's important that we always take care when
using it.
Safety is a top priority of White River Valley Electric Cooperative. We are one of hundreds of electric cooperatives in the United States which have completed the
Rural Electric Safety Accreditation Program. A service of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the program strives to promote the highest standards of safety among electric cooperatives and concerned utilities nationwide.
Play it safe. Remember Missouri’s 10 foot rule that requires you to notify your electric service provider before working within 10 feet in any direction from any power line. Call White River before you work near overhead power lines, or call Missouri One-Call at 1-800-DIGRITE to locate underground lines.
Electric Safety Programs are available for school and community groups and emergency service providers. Contact Bob Hysong to schedule a program or obtain safety information.
