White River Valley Electric Cooperation

Getting Involved in the Energy Industry

ACRE, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Political Action Committee, makes non-partisan campaign contributions to candidates for Congress who support electric cooperative’s goals. We support those candidates who, in turn, support electric cooperatives’ goals in legislature, share electric cooperatives’ values and want electric cooperatives to be successful.

White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC) works hand in hand with the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives Political Action Committee (AMECPAC), which represents the state of Missouri’s 40 distribution cooperatives and six generation-and-transmission cooperatives.

Both ACRE and AMECPAC support the gradual movement towards green energy, but we do not seek to do so at the cost of rural electric cooperative members. As electric costs rise, we suggest the use of home energy audits through your own electric cooperative, weatherization techniques, and the practice of basic energy saving tips to keep personal costs down.

To help us make the voices of rural electric cooperatives heard, become a member of ACRE and AMECPAC. We have a low annual fee of $25 to support policymakers who support rural electric cooperatives. With the exception of a small federal tax payment of less than one percent, all contributions go directly to the campaigns of candidates for political office.
