4,900 WRVEC members without power following storm

Branson, Missouri – As of 11:50 a.m., White River Valley Electric Cooperative has widespread power outages across their five-county service area. Approximately 4,900 members are without power due to the storm that passed through the area this morning. Read more.

Branson, Mo. – As of 7:30 a.m., White River Valley Electric Cooperative has widespread power outages throughout the Ridgedale area. Approximately 900 members are without power due to a lightning strike to a transmission power line.  Read more.

Record turnout for local fishing tournament

Branson, Mo. – On Saturday, May 4, a record number of local fishermen participated in White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s 6th annual Hooked on Education Fishing Tournament in support of WRVEC’s Scholarship Trust. The record-breaking, 88 teams came to Theodosia Marina on Bull Shoals Lake where the sportsmen launched their boats at 7 a.m. for an eight-hour day of fishing. Read more.

Upcoming Hooked on Education tournament benefits scholarship trust

Branson, Mo. – White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s annual Hooked on Education fishing tournament to benefit the Scholarship Trust Fund will be held on Saturday, May 4. First flight will launch at 7 a.m. from Theodosia Marina at Bull Shoals Lake.  Read more.

Three Ozarks youth head to Washington, D.C.

Branson, Mo. – Three area Ozarks youth will represent White River Valley Electric Cooperative and travel to Washington, D.C., with the national Youth Tour from June 14 to 20. Daniel Ramey, Branson High School; Faith Wheelock, Chadwick High School; and Breeana House, Forsyth High School were chosen from 11 finalists at a banquet on April 5 at the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks. Read more.

White River Valley Electric prepares for weather-related outages

Branson, Mo. – As a winter storm bears down on Missouri, White River Valley Electric Cooperative is prepared for impending inclement weather, including the possibility of damaging ice. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for nearly the entire state in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. Snow, sleet and freezing rain are all possibilities. Read more.

WRVEC announces rate adjustment

Branson, Mo. – Effective March 1, 2013, White River Valley Electric Cooperative is implementing a rate adjustment which will affect electric bills by approximately nine percent. That change equals about $10 for the average residential member. Read more.

Record turnout to re-elect board members

Branson, Mo. – A record turnout of 1,500 registered members were at White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s 73rd Annual Meeting of Members on Sept. 8 at the Tri-Lakes Center in Branson to vote on three board of director positions.  Read more.
