Help Give Back to the WRVEC Community

Food insecurity is the condition of not having access to sufficient food, or food of an adequate quality, to meet one’s basic needs. Sadly, this is a reality for many families and individuals in the Ozarks. To help address this important need, White River Valley Electric Cooperative is asking our communities to rally together for our annual “Power to Turn Hunger into Hope” food drive campaign.

The drive will run through the month of October and a virtual option will be available to folks again this year because of the massive success we’ve seen over the last two years. We will also have several “pop-up” donation stations at various grocery stores over the course of the month, so keep up with our social media accounts and website for details about when we’ll be at a store near you!

All donations will be sent to a local food pantry in each of the five counties in our service territory, and the best way to donate is virtually because four meals can be purchased with each dollar given. Since its formation in 2014, “Power to Turn Hunger into Hope” has supported our local food pantries with funds to provide over 541,800 meals to the people of Ozark, Douglas, Christian, Stone, and Taney Counties.

Spread the word to family and friends and join us as we continue to tackle this huge need across the Ozarks!
