Feb. 29, 2012 - 6:03 p.m. - 2,400 WRVEC members still without power
Branson, Mo. – As of 6 p.m., there are approximately 2,400 members without power concentrated most heavily in Stone County along Joe Bald Road.
Crews have been out working since 1:45 a.m. and will continue working through the night until power is completely restored to members.
When the outage numbers peaked at 3:30 a.m., 8,700 members were without power. These outages most heavily affected areas in Stone and Taney counties included Kimberling City, Stonebridge, DD Highway, Indian Point, Compton Ridge, 76 Highway through Branson and Powersite, and Cedar Creek. There are scattered outages in Christian, Ozark and Douglas counties.
WRVEC asks that the public stay away from any downed power lines on the ground or hanging from poles as they may still have electricity running through them.
