Information Security

We understand the importance of ensuring the confidentiality of our members’ information.

Protecting Member Information

White River Valley Electric Cooperative understands the importance of ensuring the confidentiality of our members’ information. To help guard against the potential of identity and information theft, WRVEC complies with the standards set by the “Red Flags Rule,” security regulations developed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

In addition to the controls and procedures we have in place to protect confidential information, our systems are also designed to identify any “red flags,” or suspicious activity on member accounts, such as a change in member activity. Should we notice any red flags, we will alert members and work to resolve any issues.

Under the program, staff reports must be presented annually to the Board of Directors. These reports must detail the effectiveness of our policies and procedures, service provider arrangements, significant incidents involving identity theft, if any, and provide recommendations for any changes to the program.

The protection of members’ confidential information is a priority of WRVEC. Please contact us if you have any questions, or seek additional information.
