2021 CYCLE Conference Winners Announced

Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience

Branson, Missouri – White River Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) Contest. This year’s winners are:

  • Nora Bare (Nixa)
  • Kasey Edmonson (Spokane)
  • Cristina Hernandez (Hollister)

The three CYCLE winners each receive a $500 scholarship and the opportunity to participate in a local, three-day leadership development experience. Two days of the experience are held at the WRVEC Branson office, and the third day is held at a regional location that allows the winners to connect with other CYCLE attendees from the area.

“Education, Training, and Information is just one of our seven guiding principles,” said Cassie Cunningham, Manager of Communications & Member Engagement. “The skills these students gain in CYCLE help them to be productive leaders which translates to their schoolwork and community endeavors.”

To be eligible for the annual CYCLE Contest, students must (1) be a high school sophomore and attend a high school within WRVEC’s five-county service territory or (2) be home-schooled within WRVEC’s five-county service territory, between 15-16 years of age, and at a sophomore level equivalent. Their family does not need to be a member of the Cooperative, but they must attend a school in the service territory. Applications for 2022 CYCLE Contest will be available next Spring.
