Award-winning BBQ competition to draw hundreds to Table Rock Lake

Branson, Missouri – The public is invited to taste award-winning barbeque at the Boats and Bones Barbeque Competition Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Port of Kimberling in Kimberling City, MO.

Proceeds go to the White River Valley Scholarship Trust Program to help area youth.  Gates are open to the public all day on Saturday.  Boats and Bones goers can enjoy mouth-watering barbeque from the beautiful banks of Table Rock Lake. Tickets are $5 per person and children under five enjoy free admission.

An assortment of family-friendly activities will begin at noon and include

  • Children’s activities;
  • Kids-Q competition;
  • Live music and dj;
  • Beer garden;
  • Cooking demonstrations; and
  • Backyard Burger Brawl burger competition.

The People’s Choice Barbeque Competition tasting begins at 4 p.m. where the public can taste award-winning barbeque from participating teams and vote on their favorites.

The $5 tickets are good for entry into the event, hosted activities and the barbeque tasting from a projected sixty teams from Sunday’s closed competition, which is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event with payouts totaling over $13,000.  Competition participants draw from across the Midwest region.  Winners qualify for the American Royal World Series BBQ Competition, a national event.
