Barbeque competition fills campground with teams from across the Midwest
This past weekend’s festivities brought more than award-winning barbeque to the Boats and Bones Barbeque Competition at Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, MO. Participating teams traveled from across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Illinois to the reach of Alabama for their chance at the winnings.
Saturday’s events included live music, cooking demonstrations, a kid’s barbeque competition, the Backyard Burger Brawl and the People’s Choice tasting event which proved to be just the sea of barbeque all could enjoy.
Sunday raised the competition’s intensity as 43 teams battled it out for payouts totaling over $15,000 and points toward the Kansas City Barbeque Society’s competition circuit. Winners also qualified for the American Royal World Series BBQ Competition, a national event.
Proceeds from the weekend’s events benefit the White River Valley Scholarship Trust Program to help area youth.
