WRVEC Announces 87th Annual Meeting Results

White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC) live-streamed its 87th Annual Meeting on Friday, August 21.
The meeting highlighted general updates from WRVEC. Election results from the eligible board seats and bylaw amendments were announced. The Cooperative took time to acknowledge the contributions retiring CEO Chris Hamon made for the Cooperative and incoming CEO Beau Jackson made his first remarks in his new role. Additionally, panelists answered member questions that ranged from wanting to know more about how energy rates are set, energy demand, to information about the fiber project, and more.
“What makes Cooperatives different from other electric providers is member involvement,” said Cassie Cunningham, vice president and chief growth officer. “Having 2,611 members cast votes cast in our annual meeting election ensures the direction of our organization and leadership truly reflects the voices and values of the people we serve.”
2,611 White River Valley Electric Cooperative members cast their votes online or through mail-in ballots. The winners of the 2026 board election are listed below:
- John Cooper (District A – Stone County)
- Jeff Hyatt (District C – Christian County)
- Jim Britt (District E –Ozark County)
Winners were elected by their constituents to serve a term of three years. Board members, if re-elected, may serve up to seven terms.
In addition to the three open board seats, members voted on three bylaws that were approved by the membership. The updated bylaws include:
- Amendment 1: Requirements for membership. This amendment better defines the Cooperative’s governing documents referenced during the membership process, improving transparency and understanding for members.
- Amendment 2: Term limits. This amendment further clarifies the Board term limits approved by members in 2019 by establishing a clear maximum of 21 total years of service, ensuring the bylaw reflects the original intent approved by the membership.
- Amendment 3: Electronic documents and actions. This amendment formally authorizes the use of electronic notices, signatures, and communications for Cooperative business when selected by the member.
