Youth Tour Winners Receive Scholarship

White River Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 Youth Tour essay competition. For the first time ever, WRVEC was able to name three winners, three runners up, and nine honorable mentions.

The 2021 winners are Brooklyn Schultz (Hollister), Zoie Sims (Bradleyville), and Dallin Attwooll (Nixa). The winners will be able to participate in a locally held, 3-day leadership experience; they will receive a $2,500 scholarship from WRVEC; a $1,500 scholarship from the Operation Round Up Trust Board; and an invitation to attend the WRVEC annual meeting.

The runners up for the 2021 Youth Tour are Ryan Bumgarner (Sparta), Makayla Elliot (Ava), and Kamber Hawkins (Branson). They will have the opportunity to attend the three-day leadership experience, and they will also receive a $500 scholarship form WRVEC.

Honorable Mentions for the 2021 Youth Tour are Isabel Holcomb (Hollister), Forrestt Jones (Hollister), Heidi Todd (Bradleyville), Audrey Kleeman (Forsyth), Jordan Shortt (Reeds Spring), Marah Davis (Spokane), Jacob Martin (Galena), Madelyn Sult (Ozark), and Maya Burney (School of the Ozarks).

“We would like to congratulate this year’s Youth Tour winners for their hard work and effort. We are extremely proud of this years’ applicants and winners because this has been one of the most competitive years to date.” said Nathan Stearns, WRVEC Community Programs Coordinator.

The annual Youth Tour contest is open to students who live and attend school in White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s service area, or who have WRVEC service in their homes.
