Local Fishing tournament celebrates 10 years with anticipated 200 boats

Branson, Missouri – Anglers from across the Ozarks are invited to White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s annual Hooked on Education fishing tournament benefiting the Scholarship Trust Fund on Saturday, May 7. The first flight will launch at 7 a.m. from Theodosia Marina at Bull Shoals Lake. Prize money totals 70 percent payback.

“We’re excited about our 10 year anniversary being the biggest yet with close to 200 boats,” Tournament Director Cindy Rains said. “Events such as these will allow us to provide local students near $1.4 million in financial assistance towards college tuition and career training expenses in 2016 alone.”

The fee for a two-person team is $100. Teams who register by April 25 will receive an additional entry gift. The official weigh-in begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public to come watch. Find more information and register online at whiteriver.org.
