White River Connect, a subsidiary of White River Valley Electric Cooperative, held a ceremonial event on July 20, 2023, at the College of the Ozarks Hog Farm in Hollister, Missouri, to commemorate the start of construction on their high-speed fiber internet project.

CEO of White River Connect, Beau Jackson, said of the project, “A year ago, the thought of providing high-speed internet to rural areas was only an idea.  Today, we demonstrated our commitment to ensure those living in rural areas will soon have access to the best high-speed internet technology available.”

Construction of the over 4,200-mile fiber project has officially begun in areas of Branson and Sweden, Missouri. In May 2023, White River Connect selected ITG Communications as general contractor for the project that will provide high-speed internet to the rural areas of Christian, Douglas, Ozark, Stone, and Taney Counties.  The project will take approximately five years to complete.
